Open-Faced Bison Burger Bento

Today’s bento is a grilled open-faced bison burger (no added hormones or antibiotics) with an extra sharp cheddar autumn leaf on a whole wheat bun; homemade baked french fries / baked sweet potato fries combo; organic low-sugar ketchup; a local mini golden russet apple and a salad of organic raw spinach, a sprinkling of fresh parmesan cheese and diced organic carrots topped with a slice of starfruit.

Bison meat is high in protein and low in fat and is a great red meat alternative to beef.  Starfruit is very rich in vitamin C and antioxidants.***

***Like grapefruit, starfruit contains certain enzymes that can significantly increased the potency of prescriptions medications, including statins.  If you are on prescription medications of any sort, please check with your doctor or pharmacist before consuming grapefruit or starfruit.
